School Summer Term end on Friday 16th June

Montessori Summer Term ends on Friday 23rd June

Unbelievably, another school year has come to an end! We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support. The children have had a great year and made tremendous progress. This is only made possible with the support that the children get at home with homework! So well done to you all.

Well done to all the children who have worked so hard all year. I hope that all parents have been in to discuss their child’s progress with the class teacher. If not, it is not too late to do so.

The school trips this term were very successful:

  • First Class and Senior infants really enjoyed our trip to Fort Lucan. The boys showed great spunk on the water slides! Thankfully the weather held out for us!
  • The Montessori classes are going to the Pavilion Theatre to see “We’re going on a bear hunt” on Wednesday 14th June
  • Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class are going to the Mill Theatre to see “James and the Giant Peach”, also on Wednesday.

We hope to take advantage of the good weather forecast for next Tuesday and hold Sport’s Day. Please ensure that the children are wearing suitable clothing/shoes, and are wearing suncream. Our budding musicians have made great progress throughout the year. They are holding a recital for their parents on Monday 12th at 2.00pm. Liz’s drama classes were a highlight of the children’s week. They always look forward with enthusiasm to Fridays! Liz says that she is amazed at how creative and competent the children are at showcasing their ideas. The children who do speech and drama with Liz were very successful in the Feis. Well done to all the prize-winners. They will perform an end of year play on Wednesday 13th at 2pm. We would like to thank those who contributed to the annual Trocaire Box appeal! We would also like to thank all those who contributed to Jane Keogh’s fund raiser for the trip to Africa to help build schools with the Niall Mellon trust. Thanks also, on behalf of Susan and Emma, to those who donated t-shirts and jerseys for Habitat for Humanity. School will be closing early on Friday 16th in order to facilitate the First Class Play and Graduation Ceremony! We are looking forward to their production of “The Demon Dentist” which they will perform for their parents at 2pm! Junior Infants – 12:00 Senior Infants – 12:15 Montessori classes finish at the usual time, but the children may be collected early if you have an older child in school! We are looking forward to another week of fun In Montessori. We would like to wish the children who are leaving us this year all the very best in the future and hope that they will be very happy in their new schools. We look forward to hearing all about their progress and hope they will visit us in the coming years.

We would like to wish you all a safe and happy summer holiday! We look forward to seeing you at the end of August.
