Junior Infants to Second Class
We take great pride in the high academic achievement of the children in our school and strive for excellence in education, learning and child development.
Our Junior School follows the principles of the Primary School Curriculum as laid out by the Department of Education and Science. It aims to provide a broad learning experience and encourages a rich variety of approaches to teaching and learning that cater for different needs. The curriculum is further enhanced by incorporating Montessori education principles, which foster a love of learning and provide a holistic education, promoting and nurturing the development of each individual child.
Our teachers are passionate, skilled educators with expertise and commitment in supporting all our students in reaching their full potential. We have a dedicated literacy support teacher who works with our students on both an individual and group basis to help achieve clear objectives and support their learning journey. We also have specialist teachers for P.E., drama. music appreciation and tuition.
Emphasis is placed on individual learning and progress.
We value the importance of each child’s individual learning needs and strive to support their development to its full potential.
Ardtona House School offers small classes and a wide and varied curriculum which greatly benefits both the academic and social development of our students and provides them with a solid platform from which to continue their primary education.

Pre-School
Our pre-school follows the Montessori Method of Education. This is a child centred, personal programme, which integrates all aspects of the child’s development to encourage and inspire learning and independence.
After School
Our After School Club runs during the school term for children attending our Junior School. During the afternoon, the children are provided with a homemade hot dinner and enjoy lots of activities and outdoor play.
